Meghan Markle Confesses What She Misses the Most About the UK in New Season of 'With Love, Meghan'
'I’ll Be That Grandma!' Meghan Markle drops a stunning confession five years after fleeing royal life — and what she misses most will leave you stunned.
It’s been five years since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry turned their backs on royal duty, packed up their royal baggage, and left the United Kingdom behind in a blaze of controversy and cameras.

But now, from the tranquil luxury of their sprawling Santa Barbara estate, Meghan has revealed a startling, deeply personal longing — and no, it's not the pomp and pageantry of Buckingham Palace.
In a moment that stunned even her closest fans, the Duchess of Sussex has confessed that the one thing she truly misses about Britain… is a radio station.
From palaces to playlists: Meghan opens up about her unexpected emotional connection
The revelation came during a breezy exchange in the new season of her Netflix series "With Love, Meghan," where the 43-year-old sat down for a candid chat with "Queer Eye" star Tan France. But what started as lighthearted banter turned into something far more revealing.
“Honestly, one of the things I miss the most about the U.K. is the radio station called Magic,” Meghan said with a smile that barely masked her wistfulness.
Tan didn't hold back. "Magic FM? Wow. Now, um, sorry to say this to you publicly, but that's such a grandma station."
But Meghan, ever the poised rebel, fired back with warmth and wit: "I'll be that grandma. My favorite station in my car is called Mom Jeans. These are throwback, great sing-along, you forget they existed. I love it."
It was a fleeting, tender moment — but one that peeled back the polished exterior and offered a rare glimpse into Meghan's private nostalgia for a simpler time, long before royal scandals and palace power plays dominated her every move.
Royal escape: Five years of freedom, lawsuits, and longing
It was January 2020 when Meghan and Harry detonated their royal lives in a bombshell move dubbed "Megxit." Fleeing intense media scrutiny and the relentless grip of royal protocol, the couple first landed in Canada, then briefly camped out in Tyler Perry’s Beverly Hills mansion, before planting roots in the idyllic seaside town of Santa Barbara.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into their family home in July of this year," a spokesperson confirmed at the time. The person explained that the couple had embraced a peaceful and private life in their new neighborhood and expressed their hope that both their own family’s space and that of their neighbors would be treated with the same respect.

But privacy came at a price. Even in sunny California, the press followed them with drones and lenses. The couple filed a lawsuit against a paparazzo for using a drone to capture images of their son, Archie, without consent—just one of several bitter legal battles they've fought against media intrusion on both sides of the Atlantic.
Goodbye crown, hello California dreams
Santa Barbara offered more than peace and palm trees — it was a chance to start over. In an official statement released at the time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex outlined their decision to seek a more independent life.

The statement said that the Royal Family respected and understood the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wish to live a more independent life as a family, aiming to remove the supposed 'public interest' justification for media intrusion into their lives. It added that they remained a valued part of Her Majesty's family.
Behind the scenes, though, tensions simmered. As Harry and Meghan transitioned into privately funded royals, they lost formal roles but gained freedom — to speak, to earn, and to live life on their own terms.

Yet, even with sun-soaked beaches, Netflix deals, and podcast platforms, some pieces of the past still tug at Meghan's heart—and the soft sounds of Magic FM clearly hit that emotional frequency.
We previously reported that Meghan turned 44 on Monday, August 4, 2025. On August 6, she took to Instagram to share a photo and reflect on the occasion.
"Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours, and thanking my husband, friends and family for making it so special," she wrote. "To those of you I don't know, but who send love every day — thank you so much. Please know I feel it and appreciate it ❤️."
In the same caption, Meghan praised the dinner she enjoyed at Funke, a high-end Italian restaurant in Los Angeles, calling it one of the most memorable meals she's ever had. "The culinary mastery of @evanfunke and his team is in the top five meals of my life. Extraordinary 🍝 Thank you for a standout dining experience," she added.
The post featured a photo of Meghan seated at a restaurant table, leaning forward to blow out two lit candles on a round, flower-topped cake.
She wore a white Valentino mini dress with floral appliqués and gem embellishments around the collar. She previously wore the same outfit during an appearance with Prince Harry at Global Citizen Live in New York City in September 2021.

Shortly after Meghan's post went live, followers filled the comment section with questions. Several focused on the apparent absence of Prince Harry and their two children, Archie and Lilibet. "Where's your husband?" one asked. Another wondered, "Still nothing from Harry! Are they separated?" A third added, "Family? Where? 😂"
Similar comments appeared beneath other birthday-related posts across her profile. "Where was Harry? How long is she going to be 44???" one follower asked. "I don't see Harry or the kids in this pic! 😢" said another. "Where's Harry? Where's his tribute? It must be true that they have separated," another added.

Some netizens turned their attention to Meghan's appearance, suggesting cosmetic changes. "Showcasing her new nose and jawline for her birthday," one comment read. Another joked, "Happy new nose. 😂" A third simply stated, "New nose." Additional person remarked, "Nice new nose 🐽 job 😂."
"Did she had [sic] a nose job?" asked another. "Oh wow – she has a new nose. Is it the 4th or 5th or 🤔," someone else commented. Speculation continued on X, where one user asked, "Did she get her nose done or something?"
Another posted, "Did Meghan get nose filler? She likes to show off when she gets her wonky nose filled and straightened." One added, "She's had a nose job. That's why she's been radio silent."
While Meghan didn't include Harry or their children in her post, her longtime friend Tracy Robbins did share a moment from the celebration. In her Instagram tribute, Robbins posted a photo of the two of them with drinks in hand.
"Happy birthday my dear @meghan Oh how I can laugh and dance with you like no other. You are sunshine in a bottle! Thank you for always making time to be such a loving and connected friend no matter what's going on in your life. You dance through this life with so much grace, light and love! I hope your wee posse of 3 are smothering you with hugs and kisses today my dear! Happiest of birthdays M! [sic]," she penned.
